Best things to see in Bosnia & Herzegovina
War History
The country is full of poignant reminders of war, especially in Mostar – which has collapsing houses and buildings destroyed by bullets. In Sarajevo, you can see exactly where Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was shot – starting WW1.
Stari Most
The symbol of Mostar, the Stari Most (Old Bridge) is one of the best things to see in the Balkans. It’s now well known as a diving hotspot as it’s tradition says that young guys have to launch themselves off the bridge into the cold water to become an adult!
National Parks
Bosnia & Herzegovina is blessed with a few stunning national parks. Una National Park (the source of the Krka River), Sutjeska National Park (the oldest in the country) and Kozara National Park.
